Freedom

Tonight begins a leadership course called “Freedom”. The key purpose of the course is to get free, be free, live free and then help others get free. Jesus’s final words before His ascension clue us in; Mark 16-17-18; “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;  18  they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” I believe this prophetic declaration by our Lord was a continuance of what He said after He asked Peter the question “who do you say that I am?” Peter confesses that Jesus is Lord, the Son of God, and then the Lord responds by saying “ And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it”. The signs of Mark 16, these demonstrations of God’s power are activated in our lives when Jesus truly becomes the Lord of us. This week, let us be mindful that Jesus is Lord, of heaven, of earth and our very own life and then let’s allow those kingdom signs to manifest in us and through us. For the signs make their own declaration that “JESUS is LORD!”
