Testimony Power

1 Peter 3:15 says “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready

to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;” It is both faith stirring and edifying to others when we share how God showed up and showed out in our life when things just worked out, times when the favor of God was undeniable, and times when all things worked together for the good. I remember that God is present always, and He’s at work always. We don’t always see the hand of God until after the fact. Looking back, in retrospect, is the way we often see the hand of God. There is something about the “heat of the moment”. Times when we are so caught up in life that we fail to see the hand of God working on our behalf. Then when the smoke clears and the dust settles there it is, the handy work of God on display. As I reflected, I was inspired to make two things a staple in my spiritual life. One is to follow the words of the Psalmist and let the praise of God continually flow out of my heart and mouth because God is always up to something good, and secondly, to obey 1 Peter 3:15 and sanctify the Lord in my heart, ready to share what God has done, the littles things and the big things, for there is power in the testimony of a child of God.

Scripture Verse for the week: Psalm 46:1-2 (CSB) God is our refuge and strength, a

helper who is always found in times of trouble. Therefore we will not be afraid, though the earth quakes and the mountains topple into the depths of the seas.
