Babylon

Babylon, the Old Testament Empire and it’s resurrection in the last days as revealed in Revelation 17 and 18 has much to say about history repeating itself. History is a great prophet. We are told that the spirit of ancient Babylon would be a major player in last days’ events and deception. Who could argue? Jeremiah, Daniel and others help us understand the details of the history of Babylon and thus they also help to warn us of its resurrection in our day. You’ll remember that the young men Daniel, Azariah, Mishael and Hananiah were a part of a group taken captive and exiled in the first wave of the Babylonian captivity. In an attempt to convert them into their pagan culture and use them to expand their empire three tactics were used that we see happening in our day. First, they changed their names in order to change their identity. Second, they changed their language in order to erase their heritage, and lastly they emasculated them in order to change their sexuality. So much more could said but for now just know that history is repeating itself, and the question remains “who will bow, and who will stand?”

Scripture passage for the week: Daniel 3: 16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. 17 If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. 18 But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”
